Our Sumac Vinaigrette with its piquant flavour will have you hooked after the first time you try it. Great on green salads, tomato salads and drizzled on grilled meats and fish.

- ⅓ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tablespoon sumac
- ¼ teaspoon chilli powder
- Sea salt and cracked black pepper
Place all dressing ingredients in a glass jar or sealed container and season.
Shake well to combine, taste and adjust seasonings according to your liking.
If you feel that your sumac vinaigrette is a bit puckery, then adjust with a ¼ to ½ a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup.
Store in the fridge in a sealed glass container and it should last for approximately one week.
Top Tips
- Taste your sumac before adding it to your dressing; it has quite a tangy flavour.
- If you feel it is too intense then just add a pinch at a time so that vinaigrette will not turn out too puckery.
- Too much sumac, then adjust by adding a bit of honey or maple syrup.
