Ingredients

  • cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon sumac
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli powder
  • Sea salt and cracked black pepper

Instructions

  • Place all dressing ingredients in a glass jar or sealed container and season.
  • Shake well to combine, taste and adjust seasonings according to your liking.
  • If you feel that your sumac vinaigrette is a bit puckery, then adjust with a ¼ to ½ a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup.
  • Store in the fridge in a sealed glass container and it should last for approximately one week.

Notes

Top Tips

  • Taste your sumac before adding it to your dressing; it has quite a tangy flavour.
  • If you feel it is too intense then just add a pinch at a time so that vinaigrette will not turn out too puckery.
  • Too much sumac, then adjust by adding a bit of honey or maple syrup.
