Imagine a condiment so smooth and decadent that it can instantly elevate an ordinary salad to  a memorable meal. That's what we do with our creamy feta dressing – a luscious blend that mingles the tangy punch of feta cheese with the richness of sour cream.

FETA DRESSING IN GLASS CONTAINER ON A WOODEN BOARD WITH FETTA & DRIED OREGANO

Our feta dressing is a little tangy, a little salty, and a whole lot of dreamy deliciousness. This dressing is perfect to drizzle on roasted vegetable salads, tomato salads and green salads.

But it's not just for salads. Imagine this velvety marvel as a spread in wraps, a dip for crunchy vegetables, or even a savoury drizzle over grilled meats.

Let’s Talk Ingredients!

  • Feta - the better quality feta that you use the tastier this dressing will be. We have used our family favourite feta - Dodoni.
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon - the zest and lemon really brighten the dressing and add a delightful lemony zing.
  • Buttermilk - to loosen and add some additional tangy flavour.
  • Sour cream - for added smooth creaminess.
  • Dried oregano - beautifully aromatic and the perfect match to feta
  • Chilli powder - for a tiny bit of heat and spice, you can leave it out if you don't like spicy food.
FETA DRESSING INGREDIENTS

How to Make It

Place all ingredients in a small food processor or high-speed blender.

Season and blitz until smooth and creamy.

Blitzing feta dressing in blender to combine.

If you find that it is too thick (it should be the consistency of runny mayonnaise) then add some water to loosen it.

Taste and adjust seasonings according to your liking.

What Can I Use It On?

This dressing is just so versatile as it can not only be used as a drizzle-able salad dressing but is also incredible if used as a dip for crudites and as a sauce for grilled meats. Try it on:

  • Heirloom tomato or any tomato salad with fresh herbs.
  • Roasted vegetable salads such as broccoli, cauliflower, beets and carrots.
  • Leafy green salads such as kale, silverbeet, chard or sturdy lettuce varieties like romaine/cos or iceberg.
  • Pasta and potato salads.

Tips and Questions

How Much Does It Make?

This recipe makes just under 1 cup of dressing enough for one salad that serves four people. It comes to approximately 14 tablespoons of dressing, the nutritional information has been calculated per tablespoon.

How Long Can I Store It For?

Our dreamy, creamy feta dressing should last covered in your fridge for approximately 4-5 days.

Can I Make This Dressing Without a Blender?

Yes, you can. Crumble the feta finely and whisk allthe ingredients vigorously by hand. The texture will be less smooth but equally tasty.

Can I Use Greek Yoghurt Instead Of Sour Cream?

We don't like to use Greek Yoghurt in this easy feta dressing recipe as it will make it too tangy for our liking. But, if you don't mind the extra tang then go ahead and make the swap.

My Dressing Seems Too Thick, What Can I Do?

This is an easy fix! Gradually add a bit more buttermilk until you reach a pourable consistency.

Feta Dressing Success Tips

  • A vital tip for flavour enhancement is to let the dressing sit in the fridge for an hour or two. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  • Always taste your dressing before serving. Need more tang? Squeeze in some extra lemon juice. If it's too sharp, a drizzle of honey balances it out perfectly.
