Leaf Salads

This Leaf Category is all about different types of green salads from different lettuce varieties, mixed leaves, rocket, spinach, and kale.

In Australia, there are four main types of lettuce - Iceberg (Crisphead), Butterhead, Cos (Romaine) and Loose leaf.

The rocket (arugula) sold loose is called wild rocket (roquette) the broader leaf more mature rocket is sold in bunches. Mizuna is a close relative to rocket (arugula) and is a feathery salad green.

You will find English spinach with longer leaves, sold in bunches with roots attached, and Baby Spinach which is young English spinach sold loose.

Other leaf varieties are Kale and Tuscan Cabbage (Cavolo Nero) these are hardier than the others and make great winter salads.
